This week is supposed to be warm and sunny and I’ll be out in my yard, seeing what’s up out of the ground.  Nandina berries still shine red, crocuses are blooming, daffodils are halfway up, and I’ve already potted up lots of periwinkle, vinca, and winter jasmine (pictured).  I’ll be looking forward to seeing you all here as the weather warms!

What a mild winter we had!  If anyone other than me is itching to get going in the garden, it’s the perfect time to pick out some new plants and get started.  The longer plants have to get settled before the heat hits, the better!  Contact me and I’ll be happy to make an appointment to show you what I already have potted up: comfrey, rudbeckia, periwinkle, variegated periwinkle, pink mums, orange mums, yellow flag iris, moneyplant, bushy celandine, sedum angelina, variegated euonymus, winter jasmine, creeping jenny, variegated ivy, rose of sharon, baby nandina, 1 baby hydrangea, white crepe myrtles large and small.  Kale starts are also ready.

In bloom in this garden already: winter jasmine, winter honeysuckle, winter daphne, yellow and red edgeworthia, camellias, witch hazel, lenten roses, lungwort, geum, daffodils, crocuses, blue scilla, hardy cyclamen, yellow and white primroses, pansies, hyacinths, trillium, and I’m sure I’ve forgotten a few, right?  😉
Hope to see you all soon!

DSC_0510Anyone else out there ready for some sunshine?  This cold rainy weather has been tough for someone like me who loves being outside gardening.  Still, I’ve found time to pot lots of plants and I am ready for visitors.  The cherry tree is in full bloom, the magnolias are in full bloom, the viburnums are beginning, and the garden is beautiful.  Come visit!

I also have several varieties of heirloom tomatoes ready to go, grown in a cup of my own homemade compost.  These babies have never touched the chemical fertilizers in commercial potting soil, oh no!  Plant now and make your neighbors green with envy when you harvest tomatoes in early June!  I also have kale, lettuce, and basil starts, many varieties of coleus, sweet potato vine, and moonflower vine, pictured below.

Spring is here! March 21, 2011

I’m an Annapolis Gardener with lots of plants to share. Are you a beginner? Yard choked with weeds? Don’t worry. In addition to selling plants, I love talking about gardening, and I’d be happy to share my expertise and get you started. We all were beginners once, and almost all of the plants here require little care, so don’t worry!

Come visit my garden and take home an armload of plants.  Most plants here are $2 or $3 for a small pot, $4 or $5 for large pots, $6 for shrubs.  (Cash only please.)

I plan to keep adding plants as things come up this spring.  I’ve also started seeds for various annuals and perennials that I will sell here.  Keep checking back for the latest.

Gardening has enriched my life so much, and I hope it brings joy to yours as well!
